MOT was approached by a friend of the organization and asked to provided financing for advertisement, outreach, and printed materials to bring the movie To Save a Life to Lincoln in early 2010. To Save a Life is a powerful Christian film about suicide, faith, and the power of one person to make a difference in the lives of many.
The first weekend Lincoln was in the top 20 markets nation-wide, out of 441 screens. Overall box office exceeded $1.5 million. The first weekend had a large number in attendance and after the movie was finished went to a nearby coffee shop to discuss the themes of the movie and how those themes play out each day. This success goes to show that the hard work of those involved in the local ministry FUEL paid off to challenge the youth of Lincoln to think differently, to reach out to others around them, and to realize what a difference a simple “hello” can make.
